Candle burning is a skill. If you are a lover of scented candles, you will most likely agree with me. A candle lover will try all the tricks and tips to make sure her candles burn amazingly well; evenly.
A lot of details go into candle making to ensure that your candle melts in an even manner. It breaks my heart when I see TIWI Candles suffering from improper burn. To be honest with you, this is not my fault, neither is it yours, because I understand you are most likely not aware of how to burn the candles. So, that is why I am coming out of my shell today, to write you this love
Let's get to it!
First, I will advise you burn your candles when you don’t have plans to leave the house anytime between 4-5 hours before you start burning or 4-5 hours before you go to bed (these hours depends on the size of candle, as discussed below). You will have enough time to maximise your required burn time and get the best out of your scented candles.
The required burn time of our candles depend on the size of the candle. We have quite a few sizes:
  • 50g Mini Candle (Burn time - 15 hours), burns for 1 hour at a time.
  • 185g Travel Candle (Burn Time - 55 hours), burns for 2 hours at a time.
  • 250g Classic Candle (Burn Time - 70 hours), burns for 3-4 hours at a time.
  • 450g 3-Wick Candle (Burn Time - 150 hours), burns for 2-3 hours at a time.
Now, imagine you lit your 250g Candles and after 2 hours, you snuff it out because you have to go to bed or you have to leave the house or for whatever reason. The candle was created to burn for 3-4 hours, 2 hours burn will create a hole that will never melt away.
It can get really frustrating trying to make your candles burn evenly. The secret is to burn for the required period of time. This will enable your candles to have an even melt pool.
Over burning (burning more than the required burn time) will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to “mushroom.” The wick will then become unstable and produce a dangerously large flame. Plus, your candle will start to smoke and release soot. This is why you see black smoke on the jars.
